This cute little pincushion has a
central motif of a rose, derived from an original 19th century Berlin woolwork
chart in my collection, combined with a lace border taken from a 19th century French filet needlework
chart.
The pincushion has been stitched in 10 Count Canvas on
fabric canvas in tent stitch. It would make a
charming gift for a loved one. You could also follow the tradition of
personalising the top of the pincushion by adding a pattern of pins stuck in the
pincushion so that only the pinheads are showing.
The pincushion measures 12cm (4.7
inches) square (measured across the top of the pincushion). This pincushion has
a box shape with the side panels measuring 3cm (just over an inch) deep. The
sides have an attractive scalloped lace border effect.
Full instructions and a colour chart
for making the pincushion are included in the download below.
